TEACHER TRAINING

Please contact Karen about the current trainings. Here is a description of some of the programs available:

Beginner Mat Weekend (16 hours)

This is the foundation for all Power Pilates educational programs. In this weekend, you will learn the 18 basic mat exercises and will be introduced to the Power Pilates teaching tools (i.e. philosophy, teaching formula, Power Pilates “art of teaching”). You will learn the principals behind a Power Pilates 55 minute mat class, including modifications and variations for advancement. You will also review anatomy from a Pilates perspective, and strengthen the communication skills necessary to inspire clients and teach Pilates effectively.

Intermediate Mat Weekend (16 hours)

In this weekend we will learn the 12 intermediate level exercises and how to incorporate them into the beginner level sequence. Students claim that “everything starts to click” during this weekend. You will learn how to work with people of all ages and challenge clients at all fitness levels at the same time. You will learn how to teach an intermediate level 60 minute mat class, including modifications and variations for advancement. You will further develop your teaching skills and confidence as a teacher.

Advanced Mat Weekend

During this weekend, you will learn the 14 advanced level Mat exercises and whereto add them within the sequence of the intermediate mat class. All essential components of the Power Pilates teaching tools and teaching formula will be enriched and advanced exercises will be mastered.

Comprehensive Program

This is our most extensive program, lasting 6-9 months. It includes beginner, intermediate, and advanced level exercises integrating the mat, reformer, cadillac, chairs, barrels, ped-o-pull and magic circle. You will sharpen your eye for subtle exercise modifications and be able to work with people of all ages and fitness levels at the same time.

Systems Trainings

Systems training covers same material as the comprehensive training, but the courses are organized differently.  Systems training is broken into 3 sessions (beginner, intermediate, and advanced), each session lasting 1-2 months.  Apprentice hours are substituted with in-class teaching observed by a teacher trainer.
